Rewind

A small native iOS experiment about making a digital object feel worth touching.

Rewind is a playful collection of three cassette designs: Original, Super Tape and Vintage. Swipe to browse, drag to tilt, or tap to flip the tape. Each side reveals a short fictional memory while the reels turn and gently coast to a stop.

The focus was on the details: spring motion, quiet mechanical clicks, restrained haptics and subtle differences in personality. Original feels softly springy, Super Tape responds a little faster, and Vintage takes its time.

Built with SwiftUI and RealityKit, using a cassette model by pixapexel under CC BY 4.0. I adapted the asset with independently moving reel hubs, themed textures and handwritten Side B labels.

One useful lesson: small interactions need careful choreography. The memory reveal initially left too much empty space, so I replaced the reserved area with a layout that moves naturally as the text appears.

A little nostalgia, explored through motion, materials and touch.
