As more squads contributed to the product, components evolved organically, documentation became fragmented and emerging AI-assisted workflows exposed limitations in a traditional component library.

I independently audited the system and developed a longer-term vision based on structured naming, design tokens, composable components and documentation readable by both people and AI. I then ran a workshop with the wider design team and a design engineer to explore the approach, challenge assumptions and align on how the system could evolve. I presented the resulting proposal to the wider Product and Technology organisation.

The work built alignment, shifted the conversation beyond UI components towards documentation, governance and scalability, and established foundations for future AI-assisted product development.
